About
Inspired by the structure and geometry of natural forms, Cristina Vezzini designs and creates unique and decorative objects. Her work is a dialogue between the simplicity and intricacy that one finds in nature and it is this duality that is the source of inspiration for Cristina’s pieces.
Born and raised in a medieval town in Northern Italy, Cristina first came into contact with clay in her Fine Art secondary school in Italy. Moving to England to study for a degree in Applied Arts, she explored ceramic material using influences from nature.
Her relationship with nature is full of images relating to seeds, plants and her birth place that are entwined, like time capsules, and are now translated into her ceramic and glass works.
Her works are characterised by repetition of organic forms,combined together in the realization of decorative and sculptural pieces. Combinations of forms and materials are used as an attempt to recreate her experience with nature.
In 2013, after graduating from MA in Ceramics and Glass from the Royal College of Art., Cristina founded Vezzini & Chen design with RCA graduate, Sheng Tsang Chen.
